Deciding to see a coach is the first step in your journey to discovering the power you hold within yourself. I am a transformational coach and tailor my coaching style to each individual, we will conduct an initial discovery conversation to explore what you want to achieve from the coaching…

I am a coach, but not in the traditional sense.. I follow you, rather than a process. I rely on intuition, more than models to guide us.

I have over 20 years’ experience as a learning and development professional, during this time I helped coach numerous individuals to help them transform as a person to make the changes and to achieve what they wanted out of life. There are usually only 5 key reasons why people first come to me for a coaching session… life crisis, unhappiness, lack of confidence, burnout or bored.

Transformational Hypnosis

Transformational hypnosis is essentially a way of identifying what helps change specific unwanted responses or behaviours (e.g phobias, nail biting, smoking, panic attacks, blushing) effectively focusing on the thoughts and feelings that lead to this, with the assumption being that if our thoughts change then so will the behaviour. Remember also that all hypnosis is self hypnosis. It is through the power on intention and selective suggestions that change occurs. Our thoughts create our habits. It is clearly stated in hypnosis that all work will be towards what you want to change, not what you don’t want. You see, you can’t think about what you don’t want to think about, without thinking about it. Think about that! Don’t think of a blue monkey! You are fully aware and alert at all times of your body and mind, and will only respond to within your comfort level.


I will firstly find out what aspects your life you would like to address, heal, improve or understand. I will guide you to create a calming space for you to relax into an altered state of consciousness. I will guide you into a deepened state which help you into deep relaxation. I will take notes and ask questions before we go into the hypnosis session. I will safely bring you back to the fully awake state. We will then talk about the experience and summarise the findings.


Reiki is a natural, safe and simple alternative health modality that everyone can use. Because it helps the body to bring balance to the root cause of dis-ease and imbalance, it can be used effectively to work with physical, mental/emotional and energetic conditions. Reiki is non-invasive and can work in conjunction with medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

A Reiki session begins by having a conversation about your expectations from the session and what you would like to see improved in your body, mind and life. Notes are taken so your progress can be monitored. Any questions you have will be answered then. You will then sit down or lie down. Your comfort will be ensured before the session begins.

As your practitioner, I will set the intention that your body will draw in the Reiki energy needed to balance and heal for your highest good. I will then begin by holding my hands in various positions in relation to your body. The session is conducted in silence. The sensations that a person receives during a session varies. Some people fall asleep while others notice thoughts coming and going. Feeling heat and/or cold during the session is common. When the session is complete, I will quietly let you know and have you take your time as you focus on the present. I would ask that you have a glass of water handy for when the Reiki session is complete and I will answer any questions that arise during the session.

Regression Therapy

Using relaxation and meditation techniques we can guide you on a journey of your life memories. Through learning about your past, you can begin to better understand your existing life and see from a different perspective as to why you feel or behave the way you do. Some people may want to regress purely out of curiosity however, used as a therapeutic tool we can go back to causative events of interest which will give us clues and insight into our present lives. Hypnosis is not needed for this therapy. To enable you to remember your past we simply guide them through a meditative structure that enables the conscious mind to step back and the subconscious to explore.


I will first find out what aspects of your life you would like to address, heal, improve or understand. I will guide you to create a calming space for you to relax into an altered state of consciousness. I will guide you into a deep state where you can begin to remember previous memories. I will take notes and ask questions whilst you are experiencing the memories. I will also give positive affirmations to the memory whilst you are still in the meditative state. I will safely bring you back to the awake state. We will then analyse the notes and talk about the feelings and summarise the findings.

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do. NLP provides people with a methodology to model outstanding performances achieved by leaders. NLP is also used for personal development and for success in business. A key element of NLP is that we form our unique mental maps of the world as a product of the way we filter and percieve information absorbed through our five senses from the world around us. NLP empowers, enables and teaches us to better understand the way our brain (neuro) processes the words we use (linguistic) and how that can impact on our past, present and future (programming). It gives us strategies for observing human behaviour and learning from the best (and worst) of that!

I have found the mentorship invaluable but not in the way I expected!  To start with I found it a struggle because of my initial expectations of what it ‘should’ be. As Lorraine is person and project centered I soon overcame my reservations and it taught me to be more flexible in my thinking and not to pre-empt what I think I may need. On a more personal note I have found Lorraine to be kind, warm and sensitive (won’t add the GSOH as well, as sounds like a dating ad) and a hugely impressive lady with a great deal of intellect and understanding, which she backs up with relevant theory.  Lorraine has sent me links to Youtube and research papers and it was up to me whether I pursued them, which I did, and found really helpful. Her mentorship certainly looks at the bigger picture and is very holistic in approach, which I like and find helpful.

Lorraine is very down to earth with feet firmly in the real world, two characteristics that I always look for in a mentor but from past experience not always achieved. Lorraine has always left the ‘door open’ as she is aware that I am undergoing extreme stress in my personal life.  I postponed our future meetings plus put Nature Encounters on hold, yet again, knowing that in the future I will take up the baton to take the Project forward. I would like to thank the AWE team for matching me up with such a great mentor, it is really important that this is right in order for the relationship to work well.  Most of all thank you Lorraine, for your time and commitment.
